Who does the work
When you send photos or book a visit, the request goes to the Denver heating and cooling contractor that does our estimates and installs. The photos on this site are from their installs.
How the calculator works
It uses a common trade rule of thumb: the furnace's age times the repair quote, with a line at $5,000. On a furnace ten years old or younger it stops at close, because the part may still be under warranty. A cracked heat exchanger is treated as a safety problem whatever the math says. The calculator can't inspect your furnace, so a technician's findings come first.
Where the prices come from
The ranges are typical prices from our recent Denver-area furnace replacement estimates, before rebates. Half of those estimates fall inside the range, though the range for a heat pump with a new gas furnace follows our current pricing instead. Out-of-pocket figures are what most Xcel gas customers in the Denver metro have paid since October 1, 2026, after every rebate. Income-qualified jobs with very large rebates are left out. Your own price comes from your photos.
Rebates change, sometimes mid-year. Xcel Energy lowered its heat pump bonus for Xcel gas customers on October 1, 2026, so check the current rebate amounts.
